Built in 1902, The Sanctuary Thunderbolt is a vacation retreat unlike any other. Originally a clapboard Southern style church, it's now a four-bedroom home accommodating up to 10 guests. With stained glass accented windows, your stay will be a memorable one.

As you walk into The Sanctuary Thunderbolt the floor plan of the original church opens up. To your right, find the main sitting area with a flat-screen TV. A baby grand piano resides in the corner for those musical moments. Turn to your left to find the second sitting area, complete with a colorful sectional sofa and matching chairs. Moving forward, discover the dining table with seating for up to 10 guests.

The next focal point of The Sanctuary Thunderbolt is the kitchen. Centered where the church's altar once resided with original light fixtures above, this property's kitchen has two breakfast bars. With seating for 5 guests, the first breakfast bar is adjacent to the main living space. The second breakfast bar is a pass-through design with seating for up to four guests on the opposite side of the kitchen.

Behind the kitchen is another sitting area where you can relax on the comfortable couch with a beverage. For remote workers, a desk and comfortable office chair almost make working seem like a vacation. Use the washer and dryer, cleverly hidden here, during your stay.

Walk deeper into the property to find the two downstairs bedrooms. The first bedroom has a king-size bed and a flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. Nearby, the second bedroom offers two full beds, and a flat-screen TV. The second downstairs bathroom offers a shower-tub combination.

Step upstairs to find the remaining two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have king-size beds, flat-screen TVs and en suite bathrooms. Overall, all four bedrooms have ceiling fans for your comfort and pleasant views of the neighborhood.

YOUR OUTDOOR OASIS
The Sanctuary Thunderbolt offers a huge lot for your outdoor escapades. Indeed, the front porch, with the ceiling painted Haint blue, is the first stop for a casual conversation. Here, there's a large patio sofa, two chairs and multiple side tables for your group. With a chandelier above, this patio is also a nighttime reprieve as the cool breezes kick up. Mechanics Ave was the heart of racing in Savannah in 1908. As you enjoy the front porch, imagine intrepid drives like Louis Wagner racing his Fiat past you at 65 mph!

Next, walk down the length of the property to reach the backyard. Along the way, double doors give you access to the home near the property's center point.
