Your big day is almost here and you’re probably feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. That’s completely normal! But don’t worry, I’ve got your back. Let’s make sure you’ve got all the important last-minute details covered so your wedding day goes off without a hitch (except the one where you ‘get hitched’, of course!). By taking a little time now to double-check these items, you are sure to have a smoother, more enjoyable experience. So take a deep breath, relax, and let’s dive into these essential last-minute wedding details together. You’ve got this!

1. Pack an Emergency Kit

Trust me, you need this. Your emergency kit is like your wedding day safety net, catching all those little hiccups that might come your way. Download our ultimate list of must-haves here.
Don’t forget meals for you and your squad! We can’t survive on mimosas alone, no matter how tempting that might be.
(Hint: Scheduling meal delivery will give everyone some much needed breathing room and keep everyone energized and happy!)

2. Check In With Your Vendors

Your planning team should already have you covered here, but go ahead and double-check that everyone has the same timeline information, exact directions, and your designated contact person’s phone number. Make sure every vendor knows the schedule inside and out. Designate a contact person that will be readily available to meet or answer phone calls at any moment. In general, we want to give this job to someone who can handle any minor crises without needing to involve you, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

3. Items for Detail Shots

Your photographer will want to capture all those beautiful little details that you’ve spent months planning. Pack a box with these items:

  • Invitation Suite (save one for photos)
  • Rings (both yours and your partner’s)
  • Shoes (those gorgeous heels deserve a shot)
  • Jewelry + Accessories (all the bling)
  • Perfume (adds a personal touch)
  • Sentimental Items (something borrowed, blue, or old)

Little details like this can create those stunning, gram-worthy flat lays that tell the story of your day from start to finish.

4. Prepare Tip Envelopes

You’ll want to thank your vendors for their hard work, so prepare the tip envelopes ahead of time. Assign someone you trust to hand them out at the appropriate times. Make sure the envelopes are clearly labeled and also include a heartfelt note of thanks.
Here’s a quick guide on who to tip:

  • Photographer + Videographer
  • Catering/Waitstaff
  • DJ/Band
  • Florist
  • Hair + Makeup Artists
  • Transportation Driver

5. Marriage License

Seriously, you’d be surprised at how often the marriage license is forgotten even though it is literally the key to making everything official. Put it in a folder and hand it to someone responsible, like your maid of honor, or place it in your wedding day bag. Your officiant will need to file it with the county, then you can expect your marriage certificate to arrive in the mail. Double-check that everything is signed and in order before the ceremony begins.

6. Breathe + Take It All In

This day is all about you and your partner, however, you need to be relaxed to enjoy it. Take a deep breath. Soak it in, laugh a lot, and remember why you’re celebrating. Spend a few minutes alone or with your partner before the festivities begin to center yourselves and truly appreciate the moment. These quiet moments can be some of the most memorable, not to mention intimate, parts of your day. (Bonus: It creates a truly beautiful photo op.)
